2006 Mazda Mazda6 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by SPG900NY
SPG900NY
Materials & workmanship
Fit and finish was better than any car I have ever owned. In about 25K miles of ownership, I did not have one thing break, fall off, or come unstuck. The car was built in Hiroshima, Japan (not in the US).
Front seat support & comfort
It took a while for me to adjust the seat properly, but after I did, I have to say the seating position and comfort rivaled many European sedans I have driven. I was not used to this level of comfort from an Asian-designed automobile.
Reliability & durability
In 25K miles, I experienced one check engine light, and a powerloss issue once that was corrected with a recall. Most reliable car I ever owned.
Fuel economy
26mpg was the most I got on one long trip down south. I drove it mostly highway and usually got 21mpg, even when taking it easy. Around town I got 18mpg. Not great for a 4-cyl engine. My Saab has almost as much power and gets 24mpg around town.
Insurance cost
Insurance was rather high, but that was to be expected I guess for a car with this kind of performance.
