Why the 2005 Mazda RX-8?

Exterior styling

Styling is unique and distinctive. Lighter colors really accentuate the dramatic curves of the bodywork, especially at night.

Handling

Perfect handling. Very neutral, steering is PERFECTLY weighted, and the car is extremely well balanced. What it lacks in straight line power, it makes up in road-holding and fun-to-drive factors.

Safety & braking

Supercar-grade braking. No fade, though the front pads on these cars are prone to squealing, even when the car is new. Gobs of airbags, including rear side curtains make this car safe for kids. Excellent rollover protection scores.

Powertrain performance

Unusual powertrain with the rotary engine. Very little low-end torque, however power builds in a very linear fashion and is reminiscent of a turbo. Despite the lack of torque, speed builds very quickly. Engine is extremely smooth.

Discounts & incentives

When purchasing this car, I needed to unload a lot of negative equity in my old car. The rebates available on this car enabled me to do so, and still come in below sticker price. Makes the car VERY attractively priced when compared to competitor cars.

Why Not the 2005 Mazda RX-8?

Feature availability

Ipod connectivity is a problem on the older models. There is a retrofit, but it is expensive to install. New cars have this available now. Automatic climate control would be nice. No other complaints.
