Reviewed: 2003 Mazda Tribute

4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L I4 4-speed automatic AWD

Why the 2003 Mazda Tribute?

Feature availability

My Tribute had everything that I could want. This included a V6, AWD, heated leather seats, audiophile stereo, electrocromatic rearview mirror, moonroof, and side airbags.

Reliability & durability

63K miles so far, and the only things that have gone wrone is an air conditioning compressor, and the LCD display for the stereo head unit. No leaks or any other issues. The engine runs great, and everything works great.

Exterior styling

I chose the Tribute over the Escape, because I liked the styling much better. It just looked more sophisticated, with its headlight design and painted bottom trim.

Fuel economy

For a SUV with a 4-speed automatic, this thing does great on fuel. City mileage ranges from 17-19 and highway ranges from 21-25. Most midsize sedans do not do much better, especially in V6 form.
