Why the 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Powertrain performance

Very strong performance for a four door vehicle this size. If you turn off the stability and traction control, it will smoke the tires like a muscle car! It regularly achieves 27 mpg on the highway.

Materials & workmanship

Quality of materials and workmanship abound in this E500. The interior is made of obviously high quality materials, and the quality of the exterior materials is also apparent.

Safety & braking

The E class has always scored well in safety tests. The adaptive xenon headlamps provide superior illumination around corners. The brakes are very strong, but I recommend replacing the pads with Akebono ceramics to avoid the black brake dust.

Interior styling

Once I became accustomed to the control layout, it was very instinctive. The interior is very classy without being gaudy.

Front seat room

The seat room for front passengers is excellent, and there is still enough room for rear passengers. We had an Acura TL before, and it was far less roomy than the E500.
