Why the 2011 Mini Countryman?

Exterior styling

Cute and attractive boxy shape -- on steroids.

Interior styling

Playfully styled; both my wife and son find it absolutely smashing!

Powertrain performance

Good for its class and engine size.

Handling

Very good versatility. Unexpectedly good road-holding. Remember this is not a very small car.

Color choices

Very many. You name it, they've probably got it -- if not, for the right price they'll get it for you.

Why Not the 2011 Mini Countryman?

Quietness

It is not quiet. On top of it, there is a high-pitched rattle already. Garage hasn't located the source yet!

Feature availability

Everything is extra. The standard edition probably includes the tyres -- but not necessarily.

Fuel economy

Forget economy and focus on "fuel". In order to produce the power from the small engine, it guzzles. OK, you can't have it all...

Reliability & durability

Questionable: the car was delivered with the screen indicators (i.e. remaining mileage, mpg...) NOT activated. I.e. they did not work. It already rattles (3500 miles only).

Materials & workmanship

Materials are average -- i.e. not too cheapo. But workmanship leaves a lot to be desired, as above: rattling, indicators, etc.
