Why the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer?

Warranty, maintenance cost

10 year power train, 5 year bumper to bumper, 7 year rust. #1 was warranty as I am high mileage commuter and my last car died at 130k. I was looking for best warranty.

Fuel economy

I am getting consistent 27-29 MPG on mid-west (flat) back county roads during my commute. I am getting 32 MPG on the highway. My driving style is moderately spirited.

Reliability & durability

Was sold on this feature. Seems to have a decent Module history. Not enough experience to rate directly at this time.

Price or payments

Was a little higher than I wanted but got the Price to where I could go new rather than used. Payments at $200 mo.

Why Not the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer?

Powertrain performance

I came off of a 220+ Hp 6-cyl car that was 6sp sport transmission. This I4 is quite anemic at 148 HP in comparison. The CVT is different in acceleration profile and inherently smooth. I went for MPG over fun. I miss the get up and go.

Quietness

For the wimpy engine there is far too much noise. Also wind noise seems to be quite high compered to other cars.
