2011 Nissan 370Z Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by ismaelr718

Exterior styling
the 370z is the most uniquely style 2seat sports coupe to $50k price range and packs the most naturally aspirated power.
Interior styling
Even from its base cloth interior, the finest quality cloths are used for the seats. Carpeting and materials are top notch, from plastics to the brushed aluminum. The Z looks beautiful. Complaint. Slower surfaces and center console scrach easily.
Color choices
Color quality has improved since my 09 model. Paint does not chip easily and overall quality looks high end. Can't complain about Gun metallic. 09 and 10 models you must inspect more carefully as there are more issues back then.
Powertrain performance
I have the 7A which is considerably faster off the line than the 6M. I know if you are a purist this really doesn't. Matter but the 7A provides 90% of true manual capability while achieving high acceleration times.
Fuel economy
I recommend changing your oil as soon as you get the car with basic 5w30 oil. Then @ 1200 miles use the nissan ester oil. @ 5000 miles switch again to a premium synthetic. Redline, Royal purple & amsoil. Engine will run supersmooth with 23mpg avg.
Handling
If you hate perfect handling, smooth torquey acceleration and sharp turns with virtually no body roll? Then this is NOT THE CAR FOR YOU. It handles perfect and haters are going to hate.
Fuel economy
Withoout high quality (pricey) synthetic? Good look getting anything over 20mpg.
Audio & nav systems
They suck. Whether base or bose they are horrible. Sounds like your car is running on transistor radio speakers. The nav is decent but aftermarket yields better navs.
Powertrain performance
Excellent powertrain. The 6M sounds more course than a 7A. It screams when the engine hits 6000rpm to its 7500rpm redline. Some like the aggressive harshness. I like it though.
Insurance cost
The real banger. These cars are high on the insurance charts. You will pay a premium to own a Z and if you have an accident or tickets on your record you will suffer greatly to own this car.
