Why the 2008 Pontiac G8?

Powertrain performance

The 361HP 6.0 V8 is an engine which a real bargain at this price point. Lots of torque. Previous versions of the GM 6.0 could easily get 250k miles with minimal maintenance.

Exterior styling

Holden did a great job with the styling, and Pontiac did not screw anything up too much.

Handling

Similar suspension setup to BMW. I would say is very comparable to a 5-series w/no sports package. A little more body roll than I expected after reading magazine reviews but most people will be more than happy.

Audio & nav systems

The Blaupunkt system with the large LCD and 11 speakers including 2 8-inch subs is a bargain at this price point. Even though everything but the subs is head-unit driven, the system sounds very good for a stock system.

Materials & workmanship

Very good quality materials for price point with nice soft plastics, much better than the current generation Camcords. Everything is screwed together well, and the controls are simple and well thought out. Leather is average.

Why Not the 2008 Pontiac G8?

Depreciation

2008 fully loaded G8GTs with low miles are going for $20k when they stickered for $32k. 35%-40% depreciation in less than one year, really GM? Toyota/Honda depreciates that much in 3 years. Buying slightly used is my best advice.
