Why the 2000 Porsche Boxster?

Handling

The Steering Response and feedback is amazing. I have driven so many faster and more serious sports cars, but none had the sharp handling of the Boxster. Because of this, it was the most fun car I have driven.

Powertrain performance

It is quick, it revs high, it is easy to drive, it sounds amazing. It makes great use of its power. With only 217HP, I can still reach 155mph. In comparison, the 2005-2008 300HP Ford Mustang GT only reaches 149mph.

Past personal experience

I drove one when I was 16 and fell in love. I knew then I had to save up for a Boxster. Five years later, I bought one as my first car.

Exterior styling

I like how the entire body is aerodynamically functional. Every part of its design helps it go faster.

Front seat support & comfort

The seats are very comfortable and yet sporty at the same time. They hug you a little bit.

Why Not the 2000 Porsche Boxster?

Front seat room

Because of the steering wheel that you cannot Tilt, if you are tall, your knees might accidentally turn on the cruise control button located behind the steering wheel.

Rear seat room & comfort

It does not have any rear seats

Price or payments

I got this car for less than $10,000 from a dealer. No accidents. But because it is a Porsche, people assume I am rich and charge me much more for service. Including Detail Shops, which charge double to clean a Boxster than an equally sized Mazda Miata.

Dealer practices

I have not had any good service at the Porsche dealer. They also overcharge way too much for a car that is surprisingly so easy to work on. And they do not give you any quotes or ideas of pricing unless you pay them $100+ for the estimate.

Audio & nav systems

Common with these older Boxster are the radio control buttons failing to do what you want it to do. It takes time to get to the station you want when the radio wants to listen to another station.
