After 9.5 years and 136,000 miles the car runs nearly as well as it did new. Normal wear and tear has increased its operating cost but not that substantially. Last year it needed its suspension replaced due to the rough roads in CT. All my car between 120,000 and 130,000 need a new suspension at that point as they just wear out. This one needed it at 125,000 miles. The only part that has needed replacing up to now is the blower for the heater/AC at 135,000 for about $400 for parts and labor, although the power steering pump will probably need replacement at 140,000 since I noticed it is starting to leak a little bit. Still, the engine and powertrain are the best I have ever owned since even the Toyotas and Hondas I have owned have all needed engine work by this point in my ownership of them. It is too bad that Saab's are no longer made as I like durable cars that cost me so little to operate, and this is the first car I have owned that has gone this far with so few repairs (I managed to get 155,000 out of a Toyota before a cross-country trip fried the transmission as it still worked, but leaked like crazy and needed a total rebuild - I sold it in California in the 1990s). With any luck and if parts stay available I may hit 200,000 this time.
