Why the 2007 Saab 9-3?

Price or payments

Car had 16,000 miles, purchased it with 5 year, 100k warranty for $19,750. Anniversary edition, with upgraded stereo, heated seats, rear lip spoiler, nice wheels, two tone seats.

Powertrain performance

Enough power to move the car quickly, minimal torque steer when I stomp on the gas. Smooth shifting automatic, handles corners with minimal body lean.

Front seat support & comfort

Front seat was firm and comfortable in recent 3 hour rides.

Fuel economy

25 to 30 mpg on regular gas, depending on how many highway miles per tank. This is my first car that takes regular in more than ten years, at least $0.20 a gallon cheaper than premium.

Why Not the 2007 Saab 9-3?

Interior styling

Although this 2007 dash is an improvement over the earlier models, it is too black, too bland compared to an Audi or even a BMW. I may add wood trim to brighten up the interior.

Controls and instruments

Some things are counter intuitive, like running the heat/ac with the A/c off, push a button to light up "A/c OFF". I keep thinking it is on because the light is on. Why not allow windows and sunroof to close after key is removed? Or radio to run w/o key?
