Introduction

Like every other European brand, SAABs require more upkeep and maintenance than Asian vehicles. But in return, the SAAB 9-5 gives you top-ranked safety, unbeatable comfort, lots of cargo space, tremendopus performance and reasonable fuel economy (about 7.2 litres per 100 Kms highway). Plus, its a well-built , durable car that will last a long time if well looked-after. After 10 years of owning this car, I sometimes think of trading it for something newer, but there is nothing else on the market that offers the same attributes for the same, low, price that SAABs command in today's market. If you have never driven a SAAB do so. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

2001 Saab 9-5 Love Letter

Style is very personal. SAAB has always tended to rather under-stated designs which may not be "trendy" but which last well. My 2001 9-5 (a design that dates back to 1998) still looks elegant and most people are amazed when I tell them it is now a 15 year old car.

Conclusion

A well maintained SAAB 9-5 is an unbeatable value in today's market if you can do without the very latest in "infotainment" features.
