Why the 2006 Saturn ION?

Feature availability

I ordered my Ion just the way I wanted it so it has nothing I miss, options-wise. I like the standard a/c, the fog lights and alloy wheels. The travel package (compass - outside temp reading), CD player, cruise, ABS and traction control are all bonuses.

Ride smoothness

With its 16-inch wheels and 205-section tires, the Ion rides very well, considering its semi-independent rear suspension. On the Interstate, the car is very hushed for its class.

Why Not the 2006 Saturn ION?

Materials & workmanship

This car was savaged by GM accountants from its inception. Squeaks, rattles and other noises are a common occurrence, even when new. My clutch pedal, brake pedal and now my steering wheel all make sounds, usually dependent on the outside temperature.

Quietness

Quietness here refers to engine sounds and wind noise. The engine and exhaust can drone a bit and while it sounds good at first, it can get wearying. Also, wind noise needed to be better controlled.
