Introduction

Transmission failure on the cx7 was a turn off as well as premium only gas. Cx7 known to get turbo lag and should of had a v6 instead. Saturn vue redline has a v6 and drinks regular unleaded gas. Redline edition is sporty like the cx7 in looks and handling but without the lag. Bought the redline instead.

Why the 2000 Saturn S-Series?

Reliability & durability

I love my sc1 and decided after having it for 10 years I would buy another Saturn to keep it company. My sc1 has been very reliable and if there were any issues (brakes, alternator, etc.) it was relatively inexpensive to have fixed. At 13 yrs old with 120,000 miles under its belt, it has been the best car and purchase I ever made. I hope my 08 Vue redline can live up to the expectations.

Why Not the 2000 Saturn S-Series?

Powertrain performance

The only con I have for my sc1 is the intake manifold seal. At 65,000 miles I had to replace it for five hundred dollars. It is a issue Saturn knows about and has since remade the seal for the twin cam but not mine. Wish they remade one for mine. I may need to replace seal again at 130,000 mi.

Conclusion

Cx7 has transmission failure at 20-30,000 mi. Big turnoff. Four cylinder with turbo is under powered for the weight of the SUV. Should have put a v6 in it. Only takes premium gas.
