TrueDelta Reviews the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2014 Subaru Legacy

2014 Subaru Legacy Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearComment
2015 Along with the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, and Volkswagen Passat, the Subaru Legacy has one of the roomiest rear seats in the segment. Rear seat passengers have a couple inches less knee room in the Ford Fusion. The rear seats in the Chrysler and Buick are tighter still. This said, especially with the optional sunroof rear seat headroom is somewhat limited. People taller than six feet might come into contact with the headliner. The top trim level includes rear air vents. see full Subaru Legacy review
2014 Subaru Legacy Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearComment
The front seats have an unusually high bulge just below my shoulder blades. This feels more odd than uncomfortable, at least to me. Partly depending on your height your experience might vary. These seats also provide very little lateral support, which admittedly isn't much of an issue given the limited grippiness of the tires. I had no such qualms with the armrest on the door. It's wide and cushy. In the front seats' favor, for 2015 Subaru has added fore-aft adjustability to the headrests, a rarity in recent moderately priced cars. see full Subaru Legacy review

Both front and rear seat room are very good. see full Subaru Legacy review
2013 0 I had two tall passengers with me - even with the front seat pushed back to accomodate for height (6'4" guy and 5'10" woman), they said the backseat room was quite decent and no complaints on our hour+ long drive. The cloth seats are well padded and the fabirc was breathable - cool for summer and insulating for winter. see full Subaru Legacy review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2014 Subaru Legacy

2014 Subaru Legacy Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Sedan 256-horsepower 3.6L H6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
With the H6 engine there is very strong performance. From 0-60 in about 7 seconds, it is faster than it looks. A Cadillac XLR thought it could pass me and was shocked when I zipped on ahead and it had no chance of pulling in front of me before the lanes narrowed down to one. It was funny seeing him flash his headlights because he did not have the smarts to push his car hard enough to beat the slow Subaru (I was driving fast enough, they were just annoyed). see full Subaru Legacy review
2014 Subaru Legacy Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 0 The base 2.5l 4 cylinder boxer is pleasant and works well the CVT for the most part. However, it did not feel like the car had all of its 173HP / 172 lb/ft of torque. In passing situations, the engine had to wind out and although smooth, took longer to come up to speed than I expected. I'm not sure if it was the engine or the CVT that dulled the ability of the engine to pull stronger. see full Subaru Legacy review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Tires of the 2014 Subaru Legacy

2014 Subaru Legacy Tires: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2014 4dr Sedan 173-horsepower 2.5L H4
6-speed shiftable CVT AWD
The stock Bridgestone EL400 tires are rated poorly on all surfaces by Tire Rack and Consumer Reports. I found a tire dealer who gave me a 250.00 credit for the stock tires, which I switched out for Continental PureContacts, which are outstanding on dry and wet surfaces, and very competent thus far in snow. The stock tires were nearly a dealbreaker for me when considering the purchase. see full Subaru Legacy review
2013 4dr Sedan 256-horsepower 3.6L H6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
The standard tires are not terrible, but they are not great either as they are Bridgestone Turanzas. I have a feeling Subaru got a deal on them to place these tires on thecar. When they expire I plan to get better all weather tires that Tire Rack recommends (like Michilin or Goodyear Tripletred Assurance). see full Subaru Legacy review
