69300 640 Radiator inlet hose popped off. Radiator inlet flange was damaged. Replaced radiator and inlet (top) hose. 
69700 0 Check engine light came on 3 times in one week. Each time, the car went into 'limp' mode. Would not rev above 1200 rpm. Dealer read code P0638. Dealer was not able to diagnose further and did not attempt to repair. 
70000 0 Got P0638 check engine light. Car went into limp mode. Dealer (Irvine Subaru) replaced ECM. When I went to pick up the car, I got P0638 again. Dealer replaced the throttle body (including sensor and actuator).

0 Dealer replaced defective hood latch under warranty. Latch would un-latch on rough roads or at high speed (safety catch would always prevent hood from opening, however). 
0 Replaced defective factory oil filter with re-designed part. Burnt oil fumes were entering the cabin when the vehicle was stationary, and only after the engine had warmed to operating temperature. A known problem with some 2005 Legacy's the dealer cover 
13000 0 Cracked windshield required replacement; insurance paid 100%. Crack began at windshield edge, no defined impact site. Technician thought it might be a stress crack (i.e. defect in the glass).
