2000 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons A member in British Columbia, Canada I may have some issues with my exhaust, but the engine is too noisy for my liking. There is some road noise, too, but mainly wind noise. It's pretty bad around the front windows, and the roof rack, although I have one of those aerodynamic Subaru ones. Dashboard... Very happy with the 2014 OB! 2014 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons rcboater A big improvement from the 2001 to the 2014 is that the doors now have frames around the windows-- the old 2001 had lots of wind noise, especially as the car aged and the rubber gaskets didn't fit as tightly. |
Great car with limited competition 2012 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons Member5316 On that subject, it shows the price point. Cars these days can be very efficiently insulated. Love it after 4K miles... 2013 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons Member5623 Unless I really need to punch it, the engine and tranny noise is really quiet. And there is very little wind noise. The main source of noise is the sunroof outside visor accessory that came on the car. |

2012 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons Member1664 Road noise present, but not intrusive at all. Engine drone due to CVT design can get tiring especially since there isn't much performance to go with it. Sound would be appropriate for a sports oriented turbo fortified car with palatable performance. |

2005 Subaru Outback Pros and Cons Member98 Founder It is loud on the highway, though since I changed over to Kumho all-seasons from the stock Bridgestones it had been much improved. Sometimes it is still hard to hear a phone call though. |
