Exterior styling
Robust and desirable styling, will stand the test of time like older Landcruisers. Form follows function overall. Classy yet low key demeanor. Definitely a masculine design with restraint. 2010 and newer more "butch" and stylized.
Powertrain performance
V6 engine more than adequate at all times with ample performance. Engine and transmission are extremely smooth and well suited to vehicles mission.
Ride smoothness
Definitely truck like when driving slowly with jiggly and firm motions. Refined at speed though with good control and ride. Smooth on the freewa.y Overall the "on road" ride belies the fact that it is a very capable and venerable "off roader
Materials & workmanship
Good quality in the Limited model. Built to last with durable and easy to clean materials. Well engineered underside with easy to service parts and high quality components. Everything feels substantial and has good heft.
Quietness
Besides mild wind rush and tire roar, its borderline luxuriously quiet. Very comfortable long distance cruiser. You barely hear the tire hiss of neighboring vehicles.
Fuel economy
If fuel cost is a concern, then this is definitely not the vehicle to have. Manages 18mpg combined if driven carefully. Does what it does extremely well so nothing unexpected.
Front seat support & comfort
The consequence of reducing overall height while maintaining trail worthy obstacle clearance is a relatively low to floor seating position more attune to sedans. Seats are comfortable though even for a big framed person.
Rear seat room & comfort
Seat position low to floor leaves you sitting with a knee high position. Seats itself are comfortable, but there is no space for your feet under the front seats. All floor surfaces are almost flat though considering it truck roots.
Dealer practices
Not a very common used vehicle (which is a great thing!). But the few dealerships that have them, sell them at a premium. Speaks volumes about excellent depreciation and residual value, but price gouging at the dealership is to be expected (as usual!).
