We bought the car for daily commuting (~50 miles r/t) and are consistently getting 50+ MPG. With gas at $4 / gallon this makes a huge difference in our monthly costs.
The Prius has excellent reliability records, and we have found this to be the case as well. Over a year and we have had zero problems.
The Prius has some excellent features available, the best of which are the gas mileage monitor and the back-up camera. We also wanted a nice sound system and they have a premium upgrade which sounds fantastic.
