Toyota Sienna Reliability

You won't find Toyota Sienna reliability information like this anywhere else. Actual repair frequencies, not just vague dots. So you can tell how much the Toyota Sienna truly differs from competing car models in reliability.

These stats are promptly updated four times a year, to much more closely track Toyota Sienna reliability as the cars age. Others tell you how reliable the Toyota Sienna was a year ago, when the cars were a year younger and had 12,000 fewer miles on them. Only TrueDelta tells you how reliable the Toyota Sienna has been recently.

Toyota Sienna Reliability and Durability: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Toyota (regardless of people feel) is a company that produces dead reliable cars.
2010 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Toyota is perceived to produce reliable cars. I'm hoping this one proves right.
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Toyota stood behind their warranty. They did not just "reset the computer"... they got to (hopefully) root cause. See below on dislikes.
2008 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Previous and current owners give it high marks
2008 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
no problems
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Toyota quality is already well known overall and I already own a Toyota as well
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
I considered the Odyssey and Sienna to replace my 00 Chrysler T&C LTD. I had a better selection of Sienna's, and their reliability is reported to be much better than the Honda.
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
This is the most reliable minivan on the market. I hear the Honda drives just a bit better but it is not as reliable
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Excellent product reviews and manufacturer reputation. 50,000km and no problems thus far.
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Minimal time in shop, few repairs needed, less down time.

2014 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The reliability of this van has been horrible and definitely not what i expected out of Honda. We bought it used from a family who meticulously maintained it at Honda. Anything that needed to be done, was done and done on time. first big issue was the transmission, it had 135K on the original. That costed about $5000 to replace, Contacted honda for assistance, they prettty much gave the middle finger. as its gotten more miles on it, its been problem after problem. and this van has been so expensive to maintain...for a 2006, parts are extremely expensive.
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
I had major computer (electrical?) issues - all warning lights on console lit up. Details: NHTSA.gov TSB. Multiple trips for repair and 30 days loss of use to remedy. I bought Toyota over Honda due to (TQM) quality methods. I feel somewhat cheated here.
2004 4dr Minivan, ext. 230-horsepower 3.3L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
We have had at least 8 recalls on the car We have replaced the transmission which was faulty from day one Run flat tires are horrible - bad decision
