Toyota Tacoma Reliability

You won't find Toyota Tacoma reliability information like this anywhere else. Actual repair frequencies, not just vague dots. So you can tell how much the Toyota Tacoma truly differs from competing car models in reliability.

These stats are promptly updated four times a year, to much more closely track Toyota Tacoma reliability as the cars age. Others tell you how reliable the Toyota Tacoma was a year ago, when the cars were a year younger and had 12,000 fewer miles on them. Only TrueDelta tells you how reliable the Toyota Tacoma has been recently.

2011 4dr Crew Cab 6ft bed 236-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
Good reputation for reliability - most known issues are minor and the 2011 is far enough into the 2nd Gen to have most resolved.
2008 4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 236-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
Toyota has a great reputation for building quality vehicles with low repair rates.

Hopefully very few repairs over the next 200K miles vs. a ford ranger.

My Tacoma front axe had to be replaced at 15k. Rear differential started to go at 29k, and eventually went out at 34k. Rear leafspring snapped in half at 38k. Toyota told me to kick rocks. transmission actec funky when shifting. and more to the list.
