Handles like a BMW, almost. Corners fairly flat and inspires illegal driving.

Powertrain performance

200HP and 207lb-ft of torque paired w/ a 6speed DSG. Its the powertrain used in a few Audis, the GLI and GTI. Compared to the engines and transmission choices of the closest competitors (corolla,civic,mazda3,focus,cobalt,etc.) this is by far the best.

Materials & workmanship

The material used in the Jetta are comparable to Lexus. Definitely the best material quality in its class. Workmanship is also impressive, the thud of the door, the alignment of the panels. Built to last.

Exterior styling

Looks like the outgoing corolla. Not really a negative thing, corolla is the most sold car in the world, but VW could have made the car look better.

Price or payments

Its definitely more expensive than its competitors, no contest.

Dealer practices

This might be a singular problem with the dealership near me but they tend to hassle customers. Not very inviting.
