2007 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by tlbm.info
Member988
Powertrain performance
Smooth and powerful engine, quiet, plenty of low-end torque, and decent fuel economy
Cargo capacity
It is a station wagon that has more cargo capacity than many larger SUVs but without the fuel economy penalty of an SUV.
Handling
Firm, European handling.
Fuel economy
I can average 34 mpg and get 37 mpg on the highway in gentle driving, yet I have plenty of power on tap if I need it for passing, merging, etc.
Safety & braking
Excellent brakes, and stability control provide excellent active safety, plus all the usual passive safety features.
Price or payments
Price is higher than a comparable Japanese car like an Accord or Camry, although the Passat does pack way more features and the base Passat is much better equipped than the base Accord or Camry.
