Why Not the 2005 Volkswagen Passat?

Quietness

Regardless of road surface, speed, and ambient environment, it is difficult to have a conversation with another passenger inside the car. Engine noise is easily heard as is driveline noise.

Safety & braking

With fresh stock compound pads in stop and go traffic, brake fade develops quickly; a trip to the shop confirmed that nothing was wrong with the braking system...aside from poor inherent performance.

Reliability & durability

Though garaged when not in use and with less than 60k miles, exhaust hangers had rotted through such that the exhaust pipe literally fell off the car while driving down the road. Additionally, neither rear window motor remains in working order.
