2012 With the 5.7-liter V8, the Charger gets EPA ratings of 16 mpg city, 25 highway. Last year the new 3.6-liter V6 bumped these to 18/27. The addition of an 8-speed automatic for 2012 (for now the V8 soldiers on with the 5-speed) raises the EPA numbers to 19/31. In typical suburban driving the trip computer reported between 19 and 25 depending on the number of red lights and the heaviness of my right foot. On one light-footed 78-mph highway cruise it reported 31.5. These are outstanding numbers for such a large, heavy sedan. see full Dodge Charger review

5-speed shiftable automatic RWD		 It weights 3800 lb, and returns 28 mpg on the highway, if you use mid-grade or premium fuel. Consumption goes up in winter (24 mpg). The EPA rates the Malibu turbo 21 mpg city, 30 highway, below the Fusion 2.0T's 22/33 and the Sonata 2.0T's 22/34. The V6s in the Accord and Altima also do better?so much for the inherent fuel economy advantage of a turbocharged four over a V6. The trip computer confirmed the EPA ratings, with a little over 30 in straight 75 mph highway driving and anywhere from 19 to 27 in the suburbs depending on the frequency of reds and the heaviness of my right foot. Go with the traffic flow, and you'll split the difference at about 23. see full Chevrolet Malibu review
