Tie rod end failed while driving. Lost all steering and brakes. Luckily was the right side so the car came to a stop on the shoulder instead of crossing the centerline into oncoming traffic. Very very bad situation. Mechanic said he suspected possible severe but hidden damage to the transaxle and warned of likely very expensive future repair as a result. We opted to salvage the car instead of the $1500 for repairs. Not happy! |
