Engine light remaining on--I was preparing to take the Prius for a lengthy trip and this was worrisome. Took the car into shop and it turned out that apparently the check engine light comes on when the car is due for maintenance by mileage. We had had the scheduled service done earlier but when the appropriate mileage for the service came and went the check engine light went on. Repair facility knew about this happening and were able to reset it right away with no problem.
