This Mariner Hybrid was all wheel drive and has to replace all 4 tie rods and couplings. And The good old 4 wheel alignment. If I has access to an alignment machine, I would have done it myself. (Went to Hunter Engineering for about 3 years.)

Jan 2012 The Atkinson engine is crap! Once the rear carrier blew out, it caused the engine to over torque and blow. The Atkinson system is the engine acquired from Toyota through a patent and that engine cannot take anything as far as stress. Cost too much to repair, had to trade in on a conventional engine. A jeep liberty...

The rear turn signal wasn't working. Actually just pulled into an O'Reilly's and asked for help in replacing the bulb. Took more than 10 min to get to the light bulb, find out it was the wrong bulb (glad I hadn't gone home with it!), buy the correct one, then found out the original bulb plug casing had come loose from the plug. Something that really shouldn't have happened. However, should note the car is over 12 and all the bulbs have performed exceptionally well other than this one coming loose.

The rear pass. fender completely rusted out where the shock tower mounts to the mental fender. The undercoating that was used prematurely deteriorates from the factory. This is a massive known problem with Escapes and Mariners. I was able to buy a shock support bracket and bolted the new shock to the frame and cut the rust out and repaired it with fiberglass resin. The drivers side started rusting also and I had to patch that. I saved thousands of dollars by not taking it to a body shop and getting new fenders welded in on both sides. Replaced both rear shocks.
