Went in for NH state inspection. First thing, tech went for a road test. Hmm, a bit unusual. Turns out the Taco failed because, according to service manager, of the lower steering column shaft is rusted and binding up, not allowing steering to return to center when driving. Got a second opinion from different shop, different diagnosis! He said steering rack, not column shaft. Replaced rack, got inspection, Taco steers great! I’ve since learned, these are problem areas on Tacomas.... |
