Installed vacuum pump seal kit. Easy job. Took my time and fabricated a battery box drain tube to drain under the car while working in the same area. Followed Youtube video. Nearly 5 months after the replacing the vacuum seal kit I am pleasantly surprised by how much the fuel economy has improved, especially highway driving. |
119660 mi | A small piece of plastic on the side of the key fob receptacle wore out, broke off and jammed the key fob inside the receptacle making it impossible to remove the key. The entire stop/start bezel and ignition mechanism and electronics were removed to find and take out the small plastic part causing the key fob jam. Then the whole mechanism was reinstalled. Easy step by step but took 2 hours. Followed YouTube videos by VolvoSweden https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTIqmZ163nw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dku0OUWU6Mw |

PCV diaphragm tore. Should be a routine maintenance item every ~150,000 km or so. The $5 condom should be easily replaceable. I replaced the entire housing and diaphragm unit. Next time I will remove the housing, buy a $50 diaphragm unit and reinstall. Basically an easy fix. Sounds like a turbine jet on the roof when the diaphragm tears. |
