The car showed a Electric Power Steering message under the INFO screen. A repair shop read the code as 21-02.
The EPS light on the dash did *not* light up. The repair shop mentioned that it the EPS system is unable to figure out how fast the car is going. Normally the steering system will get heavier when on highway, but with this code it will remain light as if in a parking lot.
Took to the dealer to investigate. The dealer did a "complicated" reset, which included 1 hour of labor. The problem is now gone, but I'm still a little skeptical about whether or not the problem will come back.
Battery was replaced by the dealer under the warranty.
