66400 mi | P1289 engine code came up for the first time in the 9 years of ownership immediately after taking it in for the annual state inspection. Figured it had to have been something done during the inspection, but couldn't see any possible causes for this. The code indicates a cylinder head temperature out of range reading. It is intermittent, going away after a few seconds, and I can clear it with an onboard scan tool. May take several days to weeks before it pops up again, and the temperature gauge is seen to read full cold until it recovers after a few seconds back to the normal midrange operating temperature. So far nothing needed except a reset of the pending code indication; monitoring until it becomes persistent and stays on long enough to look at. |
1364 mi | road tested/shakes in front end continue. Removed all 4 tires - reballanced. Moved front to rear and rear to front. Still there but on back side now. Tire ordered by dealer |

125000 mi | Door latches unusable from outside of car, door locks no longer work, dust according to Ford Service is a problem, no preventitive except walk to work/house. Total parts each door is $160 Latch and probably door lever part for $60 + labor I was told Dust was the issue, attempts to blow out and lube mechanism failed to make door handles work. Crappy job, cramped area hard to even see to swap parts (not cheap parts). Inside door latch works, so I put a string out to open door called Larger dealer, about issue, no known fix/prevent, no changes in parts they ship on repairs is known. exists TSB, door latch and dust problem. |
