24000 mi | Air conditioner compressor sometimes made loud noises when engaging. |

Fuel Level Sending Unit. The unit that sends the fuel level reading from the gas tank to the dash cluster was sending errors causing inaccurate fuel level readings, and the check engine light to come on. This should have been taken care of during my last repair as the code was showing up at that time. Service department wrote it off as a side effect of the last repair. |

Both high beam headlights blew at the same time. Was afraid this was an electrical issue. Replacing lights is a huge task on the cube, so had dealer check. They assured, lights just blew. Replaced bulbs, and all is fine again. |
94000 mi US $50 |
Driver side low beam headlight inoperable. This, a little more than a year after both high beams blew and I paid Nissan dealer $100 to fix them. Replaced headlights myself this time for half the cost. |
95000 mi | Power window had stopped functioning in driver door. Removed master control switch from driver door and cleaned thoroughly with baby wipes, then gave circuit board a light cleaning with cotton swabs and alcohol. Driver window works again, for now. |
150000 mi | Driver door window switch ceased to reliably move windows up and down. Disassembled switch, cleaned with alcohol solution and reassembled. Switch worked fine afterward. |
167000 mi US $110 |
Intermittent wiper control unreliable, sometimes wiping the windshield at regular speed instead of the intermittent speed setting. If I pushed the stalk upward for a single wipe, sometimes it would wipe five or more times. Dealer service department suggested faulty wiper control stalk as the likely culprit, so I bought one from a parts broker. I had the part for at least a year before I finally made time to replace it. As it turns out, that didn't fix it. Next thing to try is the wiper motor itself. I found a wrecked 57,000-mile cube and bought the wiper motor off of it, but have yet to attempt that repair at this time. Total parts investment of around $110. |
82120 mi C $220 |
Brake light switch required replacement. Issue identified after VDC, ABS, and Slip lights were on. Code only readible if these warning lights (and car) are on - code clears when car is turned off. |
53320 mi C $242 |
battery went dead car won't start. towed to dealer. eventually found loose connector on cpu under hood |
53940 mi C $460 |
Electronic Steering Lock failed (push-button start), vehicle disabled. |
27860 mi C $360 |
IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module) failed due to environmental contamination (poor design). Replaced IPDM and added new protective cover as per bulletin. |
7000 mi | Auto up function of driver's window switch stopped working. Had to hold switch in the up position to close the window. Auto down function unaffected. Dealer had to "reinitialize" the system. No parts needed to be replaced. Two segments of the gear indicator located in the center of the gauge cluster are not lighting up. e.g., the letter "R" looks like an "F". Problem comes and goes. Mechanic verified and ordered parts. |
29000 mi | Door lock actuator for right rear door squeaks when locking/unlocking, and sometimes doesn't lock/unlock the door. Remote transponder wouldn't work reliably even with frequent battery replacement. Also noticed that the batteries would be wet after a short while. Dealer verified that transponder was NOT leaking, and that signal wasn't reliable. Certain segments of the gear indicator on the LED dash display work intermittently (e.g., P (park) looks like an F). Same problem from 2010, for which parts were ordered. But dealer never notified me that the parts arrived. Replaced door lock actuator that had been ordered during previous visit. Replaced dash display. |
103000 mi | Recurring problem - "analog" part of fuel gauge suddenly indicates a much lower level of fuel, whenever tank is around 1/4 full and you drive down a steep slope. Yet the remaining miles appears to correctly indicate how much fuel is still in the tank (e.g., over 100 miles.) Sometimes the Check engine light will turn on indicating a problem, so I reset the light and it goes away until another time I'm driving down a steep hill. Sometimes the gauge will just be incorrect without the Check engine light turning on. Fuel gauge also NEVER indicates a full tank. Most of the time, the highest bar lit is the 3rd from the top, and rarely does the second bar light up. NEVER indicates a full tank. |
108000 mi | Fuel gauge indicates low fuel level after reaching about 1/4 tank, yet still shows over 100 mile range remaining. Sometimes it corrects itself. |
