The car has been burning a quart of oil every 1500 miles give or take and recently the smell of burning oil coming thru the vents is awful. I told the dealer about it when it was in for the 90,000 mile service in March but they don't care.

116000 mi

US $230
Serpentine belt began to chirp at startup. Couldn't figure out which pulley was out of alignment so I replaced the belt, the three idler pulleys, and the tensioner for less money than it would have cost to have a mechanic diagnose the issue and replace even one pulley. Could have done the entire job for $120 but I opted to go with OEM Subaru components. Issue has been resolved and I believe it was the 80mm idler pulleys that had gone bad. Both of the 80mm pulleys can be replaced for about $32 for the two of them.
133000 mi

US $6
Dealer conducted a coolant flush and failed to put in the Subaru Coolant Conditioner (despite me reminding them) resulting in a steady loss of coolant over a few hundred miles. Got a bottle of Subaru a Coolant Conditioner from Amazon and added it to the radiator and drove it for 90 miles to mix it properly. Topped the coolant level back up to full and it hasn’t dropped over the past 1500 miles.
132948 mi

Engine burned 1 quart in about 1000 miles. Replaced the PCV valve and PCV hose (99071AD690). Oil consumption went away. Plan on buying a replacement hose if you are DIYing this one. Mine was very brittle and cracked in half upon removal.
139898 mi

P0031 code thrown - Low upstream oxygen sensor heater voltage. This caused the brake light and check engine light to illuminate and the cruise light to start flashing. Replaced both upstream and downstream sensors (figured matching new sensors couldn’t hurt). Code cleared on it’s own. Total cost was $204 for new Denso sensors online. Old ones came out very easily and no contortionist moves needed. 15 minutes to replace both.
