2013 Mazda Mazda3 4dr Sedan

155-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

53000 mi One of the plastic shields on the bottom of the car near the front right wheel was very loose. My usual shop stuck it back on for free and said that the fellow who did my last oil change must not have re-attached it properly.
60000 mi One of the shield plates on the bottom of the car got loose again and was dangling. It was a quick fix to re-attach it properly. (This is the second time the oil was changed and then this plate got loose several weeks later.)
68048 mi

US $40
The car was slightly trembling. The mechanic found it had thrown a weight and needed rebalanced and one of the rims was just a bit bent (so it still vibrates).
71700 mi

US $60
The car has a mild, but noticeable, vibration about 55 mph. This was the 3rd time I asked the mechanic to check into it, and he checked the balance, and it didn't solve the problem. (Engine? Tires? What?)
92500 mi One of the shields on the bottom of the car was dangling. A Jiffy Lube attached it better for free. I'm not sure if it came loose by itself or if, when the car was last checked, it wasn't reattached tightly enough.

2013 Mazda Mazda3 4dr Sedan

155-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD

57660 mi The trunk latch assembly suddenly failed while loading groceries into the car. The fluctuating cold temperatures may have been a factor. I cleaned the latch as much as possible with WD-40, white litium grease and a high pressure cleaner then confirmed the latch could still work with a key and screwdriver. The emergency release, inside lever and keyfob button all work but it took one night and trying to lock and unlock the car several times before it resolved itself.
