58000 mi | Warning lights indicate emissions system problem. Codes show loose gas cap is likely the problem. Tried three new gas caps including one OEM. Warning lights go away for a period of from 10-100 miles then return. The gas cap can't be tightened the three clicks as specified, only one. It gets loose over time. No repair done. Fixed? Several attempts. The trouble lights would come back on after 10 minutes or sometimes after 100 miles. It seems to be triggered by the gas cap. But 3 gas caps later, and the problem persisted until last Saturday, about two months after I last made an attempt to fix it by cleaning the area around the filler opening. The trouble lights mysteriously disappeared and have not returned. I'm not sure what to make of it. It's an annoyance more than anything. It's a commonly reported problem on OB and other Subie forums. |
