178-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

78120 mi Transmission vibrates when changing up at low speeds under gentle acceleration. Wouldn’t do it at the dealers. Have since driven with a slightly heavier foot and it has not done this since.

6000 mi Complained of a high pitch noise that starts at 38 mph and goes all the way up to 70 mph when given the gas or cruise control is used..TSB was done where a cable was replaced to reduce vibration ...Didn't help....A case was open with Toyota. Same problem as before
13000 mi Still have the high pitch sound but getting louder...Called Toyota Car Care number in the manual..Sent factory rep out to the dealer..States it is normal...I told the dealer its just getting louder...Nothing they can do....
45000 mi High pitch sound while driving.. Had it since new.. Starts at 40 mph and continues all the way up to 65mph.. Factory rep came out again and said its normal operations... I'm in the car for two hours a day. I traded it in for a Subaru Legacy.
14000 mi Torque. Converter and Transmission Failure
9000 mi Loud whining at startup when cold. Eventually noise was there all the time. Shifting started to become very hard when cold. Toyota Field service engineer said the noise "was internal" to the transmission. They replaced it and torque converter.
