Shifter occasionally doesn’t go all the way to desired gear, so if looking for ‘D’ the shifter is in the right place but ‘D’ doesn’t appear on instrument panel. When this happens top gear is locked out and it may throw a code. Tech lubed the linkage but still occurs occasionally. Workaround is to move shifter through all positions several times to loosen it from sticking. |

Neutral safety switch was replaced. Lubing it previously only ‘fixed’ the sticking issue for one month, so dealer recommended replacement. I was told this a common issue, with symptoms being very sticky movement of the shifter, and it’s location not matching with what gear the dash display indicated.
