Fuel pump failure. The tolerances in the fuel tank are incredibly tight, only a couple millimeters of room. The float attached to the sending unit (fuel gauge) keeps sticking at 3/4-full tank. Reads accurately below 3/4-full. Mazda has attempted to place the pump several times, including utilizing Mazda tech team. Float still won't show a full tank. I believe another attempt is going to be made after summer driving season is over. |
21000 mi US $50 |
Wires on heating fan broken. Poor install at the factory. |
12000 mi | Blind spot monitors would shut down in heavy rain or traffic. Known issue. Mazda replaced sensors. |
15000 mi | Tire pressure monitor error. Dealer reset system for no charge. Multiple leaks in refrigerant lines including a section of aluminum tubing and the compressor. Note: This repair was done in August of 2019, not May of 2017. Wasn't able to delete and re-enter with correct date. |
11000 mi | Excessive heat entering cabin from heater core. TSB was issued for this condition and an insulator from later production cars was installed. |
10000 mi | Leaking evaporator |
20000 mi | Overhead dome light wiring came loose - windshield surround was removed to repair. |
6000 mi | The infotainment screen began to delaminate in the top right corner. The dealer replaced the part under warranty |
4000 mi | Replaced Blind Spot Monitoring Sensors under a TSB. I noticed that they were randomly turning off. Car had to be stopped to turn them back on. |

10700 mi | Diagnosed by mechanic as windscreen washer motor failure needing replacement. Was going on trip to Europe so decided to live with it temporarily. Intention to replace it on return in may 2018. Also the multimedia button for home and music system has lost its click spring and is stuck. Tyre pressure monitor on dash board keeps showing up as failed needing to be reset, especially if sometimes go across potholes . tyres and pressure in good condition. Unsure if previous owner did not replace monitors when changed tyres. Will try and resolve it in next few months. |
