Replaced rotors (warranty) but paid to upgrade pads (above warranty replacement). Seems like driving Autobahn speeds puts a bit too much heat on pads intended for US market so I asked for the Euro-spec pads. |

turbocharged 250hp 2.0L I4 8-speed shiftable automatic AWD

Squeal from right front. Dealer replaced front pads/rotors warranty TSB. Rear pads over half worn on one side, I paid to replace as tech said they wouldn't make next PM. I inspected used parts, really didn't like the wear pattern. I usually get far better wear; tech said hill hold and brake programming out of my control results in reduced friction material life. Now front squealing again; IR temp gun showed 40 degree delta between right and left rotors after commute. Car now back at dealer. |
