2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4dr SUV

360-horsepower 5.7L V8 8-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range

987 mi The driver door faux wood appliqué squeaked badly when driving. The door was removed, the appliqué was welded too deep and the heat stakes rubbed the door substrate which caused the noise. I let them silicone spray the bosses. I took pictures and sent an email to the assembly plant quality manager that this was a systemic issue present on two other grand cherokees at that dealership and described the assembly issue and steps to correct the noise. My email was reviewed by FCA headquarters Jeep Brand Manager and is now a standard all doors with appliqués get lubrication on the back of the heat stakes prior to install to stop squeaks.
