After sitting for that month, oil consumption has fallen to nearly 900 miles last time I checked. Quite bizarre!

The "universal TPMS sensors" do not seem to be compatible with the Audi A6.

Oct 2017 115500 mi US $350	After having the 115K service performed by an independent Audi mechanic, the ESP, EPC, and CEL (blinking) lights became illuminated on the drive back home. I returned to the independent Audi repair shop. The owner of the Audi shop (an Audi expert) checked the car out. He did not find any reason for the ESP, EPC, and CEL fault. However, he suggested that the ignition coils be replaced. The ignition coils were replaced at cost with no labor charge as a courtesy for the inconvenience of having to return to the shop After having the ignition coils replaced by the independent Audi mechanic, the EPC, EPS, and CEL (blinking) lights came back on the way back home. The vehicle was then taken to the Audi deal for analysis of the codes. The dealer kept the vehicle for several days, but could not any reason for the codes. I was charged $300. This was essentially, a $100 charge to troubleshoot each code separately. Although I explained that the warning lights all came on at the same time, the service adviser indicated that they needed to troubleshoot each code separately. Later, the service adviser claimed that the time that the mechanic spent trying to diagnose the problem was easily double the amount that I paid. The car was returned to me without the mechanic at the dealer finding any problem. The codes were reset by the mechanic and did not occur again while the car was at the dealership.

Gas flap would open on its own when I got into the car. They were able to reprogram some code and successfully fixed that problem. A valve seal (driver's side cylinder head) suddenly started leaking and the engine began to smoke - while my car was in the shop! Replaced three seals.

After our most recent rain, the passenger side footwell carpeting was soaked again, so I consider the "repair" completely UNSUCCCESSFUL.

Technician at the shop investigated and determined that the EVAP system's purge valve had failed. The independent shop had a technician who had seen this problem before and suspected a leak in the drain tube running from the right front corner of the sunroof and down the right A-pillar. The tech had to remove the headliner to get at the drain tube. He found an separated joint in the tube and clamped the joint to secure it. This has apparently solved the problem. Check Engine light wen on again. My OBD scanner showed me that codes for the Evap Control Purge Valve and the Evap Control Leak Detection Pump, previously present separately on recent occasions, were now BOTH present, even though both components had been replaced. The technician could detect no other issues and cleared the codes. He told me that he HOPED these codes had popped up as a result of incomplete clearing of codes after the most recent repair. There was no charge, since the recent Evap Control System repairs were under the shop's repair warranty. In the sixty or so miles I have driven since I got the car back, no warnings have appeared.

Shop tech told me Audi has TSB out about the central lock system and that there is a software update that is best done at the dealership service department. Tech said the software update might not be all that is needed to fix the problem, but it should be done first, before any mechanical repair is attempted.
