Why the 2008 BMW X3?

Handling

Precise, taut steering. Lack of body roll. It drives like it is on rails.

Safety & braking

Brakes are very sensitive and let you apply just the right amount of pressure. It stops on a dime. X-drive works very well on slick roads.

Brand reputation & image

Great brand panache. Dealer experience has been wonderful. Treated very well and routine service has been without any issues.

Powertrain performance

Great low end torque. Smooth power deliver throughout entire power curve.

Reliability & durability

Not a single issue in over three years of ownership. SA at BMW store stated X3s have much fewer problems than most other BMW vehicles.

Why Not the 2008 BMW X3?

Price or payments

Expensive for what you get, particularly when compared to other vehicles.

Ride smoothness

Very stiff ride, particularly over bumps and potholes.

Audio & nav systems

Very clunky, particularly when compared to other vehicles in its same class. NAV systems seems after thought.

Feature availability

Satellite radio required pre-wiring for dealer installation. Bluetooth phone link is primative compared to other vehicles.

"SA at BMW store stated X3s have much fewer problems than most other BMW vehicles." This is not true at all. Look around on the internet. X3s have a multitude of problems.
