TrueDelta Reviews the Real Gas Mileage of the Buick Verano

Buick Verano Real Gas Mileage: Cons
YearComment
A lot of weight and enough power to move it don't make for class-leading fuel economy. So it should come as no surprise that the Verano's EPA ratings, 21 mpg city and 30 highway, trail those of some V6-powered midsize sedans. The ILX 2.4 does just a single mpg better, though. The benchmark for quick compact sedans is currently set by the BMW 3-Series, with ratings of 23/33. In my suburban driving the trip computer typically reported low 20s. A highway stretch netted only 27. With a light foot I could also manage 27 in the suburbs. But if you're not going to use the turbo, why pay for it? see full Buick Verano review

2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
I did see 39 mpg on a tankful of gas just commuting on the highway 118 miles at 60 mph. It great fuel economy and it is what I expect from turbo-4 these days. see full Buick Verano review
2012 4dr Sedan 180-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
We previously owned a Cruze LTZ with the 1.4L Turbo and the Verano's 2.4L was by far the winner on fuel mileage. We got 700km out ouf a tank of fuel with an average speed of 110 km's see full Buick Verano review

2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.0L I4

Fuel economy is respectable on the Turbo engine (for a high-performance engine). I was disappointed in the unimpressive fuel economy with the base 2.4L engine. see full Buick Verano review

Saturn Outlook Real Gas Mileage: Pros

2009 4dr SUV 288-horsepower 3.6L V6

Too Early to judge (625 miles on her). Initially, 1st tank 15.6 mpg. I am attributing the low mpg due to the honeymoon of a new vehicle and sitting idling for extended times while figuring out how everything works (and showing features to others). see full Saturn Outlook review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The sticker said 24. I get an honest 24 and 25 on hyw ( I drive at speed limits) MILAGE AROUND TOWN IS 17 PLUS see full Saturn Outlook review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

I get between 22 and 24 on the highway and 18 to 19 around town. see full Saturn Outlook review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
For highway driving -- which our primary [90%?] use of this vehicle -- I get 22-24 mpg. For an AWD with the capacity of this vehicle, that is a very competitive mph. see full Saturn Outlook review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

For the size of vehicle fuel economy is more than expected. see full Saturn Outlook review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

Good balance between towing capacity and fuel economy. For a rather large vehicle I think 21-22 on hwy is pretty good, and 12-14 towing the boat. Most of my driving is highway commute, but it seems as though shorts trips around town the mpg is lower. see full Saturn Outlook review

Still too new to tell, so far only 13+ mpg in town.(only 2600+ mi so far) I live in hilly country so 19+ hwy is still acceptable. I have seen 21+ Hwy see full Saturn Outlook review

well, i guess its just that with the prices of gas the economy would have been ok, 2 years ago, but not today.. i actually dont do as much after work these days cause of it see full Saturn Outlook review

I was used to the Saturn Vue which got between 22 - 25 miles per gallon. Now my Outlook is getting less than 15 in the city. It will take a little getting used to, but we decided to sacrifice fuel economy for a roomier vehicle. see full Saturn Outlook review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

mpg is ok for a crossover SUV but with gas prices of today vehicles need to get much better gas mileage. see full Saturn Outlook review
2007 4dr SUV 270-horsepower 3.6L V6

Fuel economy was not as high as that of the Sienna, and in addition, many of the estimates seemed too high and were not supported by actual user feedback/comments found on Internet site reviews see full Saturn Outlook review
