What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2012 Chrysler 300

2012 Chrysler 300 Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2012 4dr Sedan 470-horsepower 6.4L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The SRT8 model is all about performance, but the cost is the poor fuel economy. 0-60 sprints take fewer than 5 seconds and Quarter miles are done in fewer than 12.5. Unfortunately, the more refi ned engine isn't as throaty as the old model. Starting my 6.1 via remote was something I looked forward to each time I drove it. This model is quieter and doesn't let on what power lurks beneath. see full Chrysler 300 review
2012 4dr Sedan 292-horsepower 3.6L V6
8-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The V6 has P L E N T Y of power whenever you need it. The 8 speen tranny is fun in shift mode and smooth as silk all by itself. One caveat.....when you put it in park, make sure, the electronic shifter takes a minute to get used to as there is no "position" for any gear. see full Chrysler 300 review
2011 4dr Sedan 292-horsepower 3.6L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The 3.6 Pentastar engine in this car is probably the most surprising performance engine I have driven considering the weight and size of the 300. Looking for a 300 and unsure what engine to get? The 3.6 choice will not be regretted. see full Chrysler 300 review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Tires of the 2012 Chrysler 300

2012 Chrysler 300 Tires: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2012 4dr Sedan 470-horsepower 6.4L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The original 300 SRT8 came with staggered tires 275/40/R20 and 245/45/R20 (Goodyear Eagle RSA). The new models only offer a $150 upgrade to 3-season summer tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 24 5/45/R20), but buyers with deep pockets can change that immediately. see full Chrysler 300 review
