big truck look in a small SUV, clean lines , looks beefier than it really is

Driving position & visibility

solid feel good upright positioning provides a clear sight line good vision through side mirrors no blind spot that I have noticed

Quietness

compared to my 1999 explorer the 2008 Escape is like a cadillac, (well not that close but you get what I mean)

Safety & braking

the rear drum (can you believe it ) provides for a very mushy feel, and a sense that you had better stomp those binders. The Continental tires leave a lot to be desired as well in terms of grip - here again cheap
