Escape; a dressed up Focus (a good thing!) 2014 Ford Escape Pros and Cons Member3137 I find the handling to be among the best in the compact CUV segment. Like a slightly taller Focus (and that's a good thing). |
Not an SUV anymore 2013 Ford Escape Pros and Cons jrexplore Handling has been improved on the 2013 redesign. The Escape now handles like a car, which is what it has become. Steering is quicker, suspension has less body roll, but is harsher over bumps. |

2014 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh I last reviewed the Tiguan in mid-level trim. Compared to the athletic Mazda CX-5 we had the same week, the Tiguan SE's steering felt light and its suspension felt flaccid. While my wife preferred that VW's "easy driving" character, she's not a driving enthusiast. The Tiguan R-Line, with (if... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Ford Escape |

2014 Subaru Forester XT Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The redesigned Subaru Forester doesn't handle badly. Far from it. It steers easily, and handles safely and predictably. Driving the new Forester could hardly be more pleasant. But, even with the XT's sport suspension it doesn't feel sporty or especially fun. For that the Escape is a better choice. If... 2013 GMC Terrain Denali V6 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh A relatively large compact crossover with a relatively cushy suspension, the Terrain isn't the best choice for driving enthusiasts. Though body motions are very well controlled and the Terrain's chassis never deals out nasty surprises, its feedback-free steering has some slop on-center. It simply drives like an even larger, heavier... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Ford Escape |
2013 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The CX-5 handles very well...for a crossover. I've put this "pro" fourth because that qualifier is a big one. While the CX-5's chassis behaves very well, with admirable precision and poise, the crossover's higher seating position and center of gravity (compared to a car) never fades from awareness. The steering... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Ford Escape |

2011 Ford Escape Pros and Cons Member3168 Good turning radius. Very easy to maneuver in tight spaces and easier to park. Sensitive, but responsive steering. |

2006 Ford Escape Pros and Cons Member5104 Good tires make a difference, but the "truck" handles easily and responds well. |

2005 Ford Escape Pros and Cons A member in Illinois, United States With the lighter weight of the front wheel drive platform, the Escape was actually fun to toss around. I found this to be a definite plus. |
