Replaced air intake boot. Dealer wanted $250, the part only cost $20 and it took 30 minutes.
35981 mi An information warning came on that said "Tighten Fuel Cap." It had been at least a week since the last fill-up. I shut off the engine, removed the fuel cap and then put it back on, twisting it to hear the recommended three clicks. After starting and stopping the engine, and running a few errands, I brought it into the dealer with 19 miles left on the original warranty. The assistant service manager ran diagnostics which said Evaporative Leak and then cleared the warning. He said to drive it 100 miles and see if the warning returns. I asked for written verification that I had visited for the problem but he said running diagnostics and resetting the warning would not require a service department invoice. If this comes up after 19 miles, I'll be out of warranty.

Looking at engine, right side of camshaft there is a round cover about 1.5" diameter. The o-ring dried and cracked after 14 years of driving and leaked oil onto transmission and down onto driveway, about 1/8 quart per week. Only leaked when engine was running. Wiring manifold from computer to sensors is right next to it and there is no slack so moving it out of the way was difficult. Disconnecting the wires from sensors was more difficult to get to so I didn't do that, only disconnected the ones I could easily see and get to.

Poor heat on cool mornings drove me to flush and fill the radiator using typical off-the-shelf chemicals. During that effort I discovered that the overflow bottle had contacted the serpentine belt system and had a hole worn in it. This caused the car to lose enough fluid that the heating performance suffered. I took it out, patched it with fiberglass mesh and adhesive, reinstalled, finished the flush-and-fill, and thereby solved the problem. Flush-and-fill probably not necessary.
