Compared to other cars in its class, the Elantra offered more standard and available features at a lower cost.
My 2005 Elantra performed magnificently for 7 plus years. Other than a couple of minor issues (covered under warranty), it was maintenance free and very reliable. This combined with it being fun to drive with a large cargo capacity gave me supreme confidence in Hyundai and the Elantra.
I keep very good records of every car I have ever owned. The Elantra (this will be the third one I have owned) has performed the best. The net investment (excluding maintenance, and operational costs for fuel fluids, tires etc.) was $6,500.00. The car had 63,000 miles on it when I sold it for $7.000.00 within 5 days of listing it to a private party.
My car did not have anti-lock brakes or any of the new braking technology. Blue-tooth & navigation was also not available.
A very economical, reliable and fun car to drive.
