2000 0 Two crossbars providing trunk release are clipped into place underneath the center tail-light, in the trunk; with trunk empty, and driving normally, they will dislodge from clip and rattle noisily. However, They are snapped back into place in 5 secon

125 Found the factory rear upper control arm bends/flexes when the suspension moves, which causes camber to go out of specification. Upper arm is not designed properly, this it is unsafe to drive the car. Replaced both upper control arms on rear suspension wi 
0 TSB 040-10-010. Recalibrate Speedometer TSB campaign. Speedometer was off by 8 mph. HMC reprogrammed the TCU to accept the speedo cluster in the car. Clusters in the automatic equipped v vehicles are conflicting with the TCU software showing inaccurate sp 
22 Replace battery ground wires. The negative battery ground cable and the existing ground cable from the trans to the chassis was too small causing charging issues. The battery cable is now a 2 gauge wire. The trans to chassis wire now is a 4 gauge cable. A 
14000 150 Positive battery cables to battery and alternator replaced. Replaced/rerouted auto transmission cooler lines to/from external cooler. 
15700 61 Replaced ground wires from engine to chassis and negative battery cable with 0 gauge cable. 
16300 165 Engine oil/filter change Transmission service. Noticed trans fluid was dark brown and smelled burnt. ATF was overheating due to blockage in the transmission. Had to remove the filter to access the blockage to remove it. 
20000 38 TSB for intermittent cluster illumination flicker. TSB instructs tech to replace BCM with a new version. Part ordered.  Steering column clunk. Dealer found the noise on all other Elantras. Noise is normal. R/R seat latch broke. Part ordered. BCM was replaced.  Steering wheel audio control assembly was replaced. R/R seat latch was replaced. Gear selector indicator 3rd gear intermittently flickers. Dealer ordered part to be replaced. 
20500 0 Dealer found 3rd gear cluster indicator light flicker issue caused by intermittent electrical short inside A/T. This caused the TCM, instrument cluster to short out the processors. Ordered AT, TCM and cluster and R&R each part.

36300 0 Rear passenger side window ceased functioning. Was told the motor was burned out and needed to be replaced. They ordered the part. They replaced the window motor and window was still non-functional. The invoice says it was a short in the multi-function switch (I'm assuming the one in the driver's side door) which they then replaced. 
37000 60 Successfully repaired Driver's Side headlight, and replaced passenger's headlight for matching set. 
44500 0 Original steering wheel vinyl deterioration. Replaced under warranty. 
50000 35 Driver-side headlight went out. 3 weeks later passenger headlight also went out. Replaced both headlights successfully. 
56500 10 Passenger side vanity mirror separated from visor. Epoxied it back into place. 
58000 680 Took car to shop for new tires and alignment. Shop notified me that the front driver CV axle was broken and needing replacement. Successfully replaced CV joint and installed new tires.

113000 350 Notified ball joint was about to tear out. Shop replaced driver's front control arm, ball joint, and end link. Notified that coolant was low. Shop requested to do pressure test. Declined, later able to diagnose as old hoses and worn out hose clamps. Notified rear sway bar was "clunking around." For performance, I am going to upgrade to a larger sway bar once I have a new part. 
115000 45 Replaced radiator hoses and hose clamps. Radiator flush and fill. 
115000 549 Radiator developed crack in plastic housing along the top of the radiator. Replaced radiator. Notified front passenger side CV boot was cracked and required replacement.

50000 539 brakes failed while driving to Chicago. pedal went to floor. Hyundai said 2 back wheel cylinders need to be replaced, and a "flush". brakes were spongy and failed again brake pedal all the way to floor took car to local hyundai shop (indiana) claimed no problem found! Shop bled brakes 3 times drove it 32 miles, put $20 gas in tank, and I paid $62 for second time in shop. 
57000 115 last year Stephens Hyundai told me "could not detect problem" rarely drove the car for over a year. Brakes squish, & when braking from 55mph, severe vibration. took for alignment but mechanic said not alignment problem New rotors on front fixed prob problem with clutch pedal too high, clutch slow to engage - Stephens Hyundai told me "no problem existed" Friend told me clutch needs replaced soon, common probl in this year and make
